Now What's New?

Yes, it has been quite a while since we have posted a post... but life is busy, and that never seems to stop or even slow down.

Ok, so what has changed or is new since the last posting? Lots...

Well, to start with, the Spring 2023 tree shipping season has all but concluded. As the temperatures have heated up across the nation, that makes shipping trees (even dormant trees) more challenging to get delivered in the best condition. The reasoning is, that trees shipped are subject to getting warm or drying out in the box as the shipment is sent from here to there. Although we inspect the trees and plants before packing, and pack them well, a box in transit can still be subjected to warm temps. We try to avoid that as much as practical, so many trees are dropped from the offering as the season progresses, and at some point, virtually all tree shipments are halted. So that is where we stand with the season... Yes, we can and do continue to ship trees and plants, but on a rather limited basis. Any questions, then email us.

And speaking about trees and shipping, again this season was dominated by an interest in fruit trees. We have had fruit trees forever, but over the last several years, there seems to have been a greater interest and popularity for fruit trees. Apple trees have been popular, as have peach trees, plum trees, and pear trees. Now cherry trees would be the most desired tree, but they have been limited in supply. Too bad, hopefully we can that sorted for next season.

Ok, enough of the trees... what else is new is the ever-changing website. We started with our cdr3.com website over 26 years ago, when the internet was brand new. We were one of the first out there on the "wild web", and we had done fairly well with that. But a couple years ago, due to technical challenges, we switched to a new fancy e-commerce package, and last year switched that to a different webpage. Our webpage and email (below) work fine, just still not what we are wanting. The ol' days of managing and coding our own pages are sorely missed...

But what we have planned and in store as time marches forward, is more ordering and interaction through this blog, and we might start another blog also. Want to order trees from here? Yes, we can do that with ads on the blog itself, but using our email, we can send an ordering list and handle a deal more personally. Avoid the web? No, not really, we list our products on the platforms like Etsy and eBay, but our current webpage is available too. We just want something in between, but you'll see as things develop.

And more about new... forever we have been about "fast growing" trees, with our Ameri-Willow as our Star brand. As noted, over the last several years, fruit trees are more of interest to the world out there, so we have concentrated more on those trees. If you can grow your own food, then we can help. That's important to grow some of your food, having a garden, fruit tree added to the landscape design, and maybe adding a small orchard. Whereas in the past, we grew over 200 types of trees and plants, now we barely grow fifty types of trees. We still experiment with a lot of stuff, but what we get into production that we can then offer, well, the fruit trees have become "our jam".

What else is new with us? We still use PayPal, we were on the "world wide web" longer before they started, but we have used them now for over 26 years. PayPal is still 100% good and reliable. But also, we still accept checks and money orders, and mailed-in orders.

So how new is this info we just shared? Not a great deal really. We are still the same as we have ever been. We still grow trees (primarily), and we still offer a lot of non-nursery items (which is mostly promoted on the platforms). The websites are new-ish, but all roads lead back to us, so that's not really new...

You read this posting, so that is new. Thanks. And we hope you will check out our webpage, and see what we offer on Etsy and eBay.
